AWiFS based Land Use/Cover Map from NRSC/ISRO Contributes to Unified Global Crop Land Map (2014)
Global Food Security, Crop Monitoring and Forecasting Applications of Earth Observation require a reliable global map of crop land. In past two decades a number of global land use / cover maps have been generated. Recently, Waldner et al (2016) have synthesized a unified crop land layer information at 250m resolution for which various global and regional land cover data sets prepared have been integrated. The global land cover maps from nearly 80 land use / cover maps from 49 sources prepared for time periods ranging from 1990 to 2014 have been integrated.  More
