RISAT

This will be the first satellite to be launched by India to operate in the microwave region. The satellite will carry a multi-mode, agile, Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR) payload operating in ScanSAR strip mode to provide images with coarse and medium resolution and Spot mode to provide images with fine and high spatial resolution.

Level 0 or Raw data

  • Raw SAR data after frame synchronization with the essential input data required for processing at user end.

Basic SAR image data

• SLC Product

  • Single Look Complex - phase preserved, slant range image using the ancillary data. Minimum number of corrections and interpolations are performed on the data in order to allow the user maximum freedom to derive higher level products

• Multi-look data or Image data

  • Multi-look image, ground range, digital data using up to data ancillary parameters - intended for use in conjunction with optical data (Both 8 bit,16 bit level products)

• Geocoded Product

  • True North oriented and precision corrected map based Image Plus data products
CRS/MRS mode - 1 deg x 1 deg
FRS1/FRS2 mode - 7 1/2’ x 7 1/2’
HRS mode - 2.5’ x 2.5’

In all the cases, user can select the Polarization as per the specifications of the mode
  • Polarimetric products - Quad Polarization with phase information (FRS-1)
  • Radargrammetry data pairs
  • InSAR pairs
  • FCC of multi temporal images
  • DEM extracted from Radargrammetry pairs
  • Higher radiometric resolution (1dB) products with larger no of looks for specific applications (Soil moisture studies)
