Hydro Power The Tehri Dam, built on the Bhagirathi River in
Uttarakhand, India, with a height of 260.5 meters
is the 12th tallest dam in the world and the
highest dam in India. It harnesses the river water
for irrigation and hydro-electric power purposes.
The Cartosat-2S satellite captured the dam along
with the picturesque Tehri Lake.
