Landsat

NRSC has a huge archives of data acquired from the Landsat series of satellites during the period 1984-2001. The Landsat-4 and 5 satellites carry two sensors on-board. A Multi Spectral Scanner (MSS) and a Thematic Mapper (TM). While MSS provided data in four spectral bands with a resolution of 80m, TM provided data in seven spectral bands with a resolution of 30m in the visible and near infra-red bands and 120m in the thermal band. As per the archival policy four coverages per year are available for day passes, two cycles in two years for night passes for the period 1984 to 1997 and data of all the passes acquired thereafter. Few more mission details at Landsat Web site .
