Decadal forest working plans are prepared (as per the approved working plan code enforced by MOEF&CC)  by the forest divisions of the state forest departments for the prescriptions to be adopted as actions or “working” in the specific forest division so as to maintain the resources sustainably for long terms. Geomatics based inputs are key to the inventory of the forest timber resources wherein important species and girth class wise timber volume for each compartment is estimated.

This is achieved by the help of remote sensing based forest cover and forest type stratification in conjunction with geospatially balanced design based ground inventory. We have already completed several forest divisions across states and for the complete state of Odisha in the last cycle and the current cycle  in progress.
