Overview

Aerial Services and Data Management Area (AS&DMA) is a state-of-the-art facility for operations and research in aerial remote sensing at NRSC, ISRO. The journey of NRSC (formerly NRSA), started with the aerial facility which marked the beginning of remote sensing programme in the country. AS&DMA is a unique facility in the country that provide end to end large scale and high resolution geospatial solutions to the end user. Right from planning to the final data product generation and required value addition, AS&DMA encompasses all the necessary technical resources and the skill sets.

The primary activities at ASDMA include generation of large scale geospatial database upto 1:500 scale, high resolution Digital Elevation Models (DEM) with accuracies up to 5cm, ultra high resolution Orthoimages with GSD of up to 2 cm catering to various applications. AS&DMA has the required expertise to support a large number of specialized applications like volumetric analysis, corridor alignment studies, 3D visualization etc. AS&DMA also contributes to ground based & airborne testing and calibration of various space missions of ISRO. In order to meet the future requirements active research is on at AS&DMA in the fields of GeoAI, AI/ML & DL.

AS&DMA, NRSC has around five decades of experience in aerial remote sensing. This experience and expertise at AS&DMA evolved in line with the growing application demands and constantly evolving technological developments.
