Planning and Programming refers to the scheduling of the satellite's payload resources on daily basis envisages as per satellite mission objectives. User requirements are met based on feasibility of acquisition, priorities whether conditions and satellite ground resources.

Payload programming is required to capture the satellite data from multiple sensors, steerable cameras with multi-mode operations, on-board data storage and transmission capabilities and building of global archives.
