Bhuvan Data Hub – High Resolution Satellite Imagery (1 m): Explore India's Changing Landscape

The High Resolution Data (1 m) module in the Bhuvan Data Hub provides seamless access to high-resolution satellite imagery acquired from Indian Earth Observation (EO) missions. The service enables users to visualise India-wide satellite mosaics captured over multiple years, supporting detailed analysis of changes in natural and built environments.

The module currently offers nationwide mosaics for the following periods: 2025, 2024–2022, 2021–2019, 2019–2018, 2017, and 2016–2012. These datasets provide a valuable historical archive for monitoring urban expansion, infrastructure development, land-use changes, environmental management, agriculture, water resources, and disaster assessment.

One of the key features of the application is its comparative visualisation capability. Users can select two or more image mosaics and compare them using either Swipe Mode, which interactively reveals changes by sliding between images, or Step Mode, which enables sequential viewing of imagery acquired during different years. These intuitive tools make it easier to identify temporal changes and assess developmental or environmental trends.

Designed for government agencies, planners, researchers, academia, and geospatial professionals, the High Resolution Data module serves as a powerful platform for exploring India's geospatial history through high-quality satellite imagery. It demonstrates the capabilities of India's Earth Observation programme in delivering reliable, high-resolution geospatial information for planning, monitoring, and decision-making.
