Bhuvan Disaster Management Support – Geospatial Services for Landslide & Earthquake Risk Management

The Bhuvan Disaster Management Support module provides geospatial information and decision-support services to enhance preparedness, monitoring, and risk assessment for natural disasters. Developed by the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), the platform integrates satellite data, geospatial analysis, and thematic information to support disaster management agencies, planners, researchers, and the public.

The module offers dedicated services for Landslide and Earthquake information. The Landslide Early Warning service provides timely alerts and location-specific information to support preparedness and response in vulnerable regions. The Landslide Hazard and Inventory service enables users to visualise landslide hazard zonation and historical landslide inventory data, facilitating risk assessment, infrastructure planning, and mitigation strategies.

The Earthquake Information service provides access to earthquake event locations and related geospatial information through an interactive map interface. Users can visualise seismic activity, explore event-specific details, and analyse spatial patterns that support disaster preparedness, emergency response, and post-event assessment.

By integrating multiple disaster-related geospatial services on a common platform, the Bhuvan Disaster Management Support module enables users to access reliable and up-to-date information for improved situational awareness and informed decision-making. These services demonstrate the role of Indian Earth Observation technologies in strengthening disaster resilience and supporting evidence-based disaster risk management across the country.
