Coffee Plantation Atlas of India

Coffee Plantation Atlas of India contains the highlights of collaborative project ‘Geospatial Inventory of Coffee Plantations at National Level’ (Geo-CUP) for inventory of coffee plantations at national level in traditional, non-traditional and north-eastern coffee growing regions of India. The project was done in collaboration with Coffee Board, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India. Coffee is the second most traded commodity worldwide and its production has implications in both international and domestic economy. Coffee contributes significantly to sustain the unique bio-diversity of the region and is also responsible for the socio-economic development in the remote, hilly areas including the livelihood of various tribes. The details of satellite data used, methodology followed and coffee plantation maps are presented in the atlas.
